Iran has claimed the title of the 8th Asian Youth Boys' Volleyball Championship for the fifth time after a hard-fought victory over China.

China tied the score again with a 25-22 victory in the fourth set. Iran then managed to pull off a 15-7 victory in the fifth and final set to capture the championship title.

Iran defeated its rival Friday in the match held at Tehran's Azadi Stadium Hall, claiming the title for the fifth time in the Asian Youth Boys' Volleyball Championship.

Previously, Iran won gold medals for the event in 2001, 2005, 2007, and 2008.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad issued a congratulatory message admiring the newest victory by the Iranian youths that has booked them a place in the first Youth Olympic Games of 2010 in Singapore as Asia's sole representative.
