Iran grounds all flight to Saudi Arabia
Iran will suspend all flights to Saudi Arabia as a precautionary measure against the spread of swine flu.
The Spokesman for Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO), Reza Jafarzadeh, said on Monday that starting from August 11, 2009, all flights to Saudi Arabia would be grounded.
"To prevent the spread of Influenza Type A, there will be no flights between Iran and Saudi Arabia," said Jafarzadeh.
The last flight en route to Saudi Arabia departed on Monday and all Iranians currently on a Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca will return before Ramadan, he said, Tabnak reported.
According to the Islamic lunar calendar, this year the holy month of Ramadan will start on August 22, and end on September 19.
