The University of Science & Technology is the first private and non-profitable institute of higher education in the Republic of Yemen. It was established in 1994 and aims at contributing to the growth and development of education in a constantly changing technological world. The university's programs and course offerings are custom-tailored to respond positively to the country's development and growth.
The University opened its doors in 1994 as an institution of higher education offering undergraduate and post-graduate level instruction. Its primary mission is to provide effective teaching supported by research for the advancement of knowledge and service to the community.
To provide quality education to school-bound female students in accordance with the principles of Islamic Shari’a, UST offers school teaching opportunities exclusively for women in virtually all disciplines. The University also has chapters and branches in other cities such asTaiz and Hodeidah since 1996. To support its Post-graduate Division, UST develops link-up and exchange programs with a number of universities of repute from around the world.
Foundation
UST is the first private university in Yemen. It aims to stand unique among higher educational institution as it offers a wide variety of four or five year study programs or six-year study for Medical Faculty programs and two-year diploma programs. It was founded in the academic year 1994/95 by some educationalists and other experts who feel concerned with the development of the Yemeni society.
