School Burns outside Virginia Mosque

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on the FBI to assist in the investigation of a fire that destroyed a school bus outside a Northern Virginia Islamic center. Fire investigators say they found a container of gasoline at the site and
another container some 200 feet away under a tree.

CAIR is America's largest Islamic civil liberties group, with headquarters
in Washington, D.C., and 16 regional offices nationwide and in Canada

Pakistani community hand over relief goods to RCA

The Pakistani community in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain collected 20,000kg of aid for the Iraqis and handed it over to the Red Crescent Authority (RCA) yesterday. The items collected in the last three days included rice, sugar, salt, wheat, cooking oil, powered milk and others.

During a ceremony at the Pakistani Embassy, Maroof Afzal, Community Welfare Counselor, handed over the container of goods to Mohammed Al Hamadi, Manager of the Resource and Development Department at the RCA.

WIPO continues to help African Muslims

Libya-based World Islamic Propagation Organization (WIPO) continues to send aid to Muslims in various African countries, and only recently distributed copies of the Holy Qur’an and 30,000 copies of other Islamic books and booklets in Ethiopia’s mosques and Islamic schools, while in Gambia it is in the process of building a large mosque, on a piece of land measuring one and a half hectare, which will have a capacity for 8,000 worshippers, with separate prayer areas for the women folk. In Burkina Faso, WIPO recently held a training course on how to utilize modern technology
