Rotterdam intl. film festival to screen two Iranian movies

Two Iranian movies are selected to be screened at the 42nd edition of Rotterdam International Film Festival in Netherlands.

Parviz, made by Majid Barzegar, will be presented at Iran section of the festival that will kick off on January 23.

The feature length movie is about a man named Parviz who, in his fifties, has been living in a house with his father without ever having a job. His routine suddenly falls apart when his father decides to remarry and tells him to move out.

The movie also competed at Spain’s San Sebastian international film festival, which is the most important cinematic event in Spain and the Spanish speaking countries. It received a Special Mention after it was premiered at new directors section of the festival.

Modest Reception, made by Iranian director-actor Mani Haghighi, will also be screened at the prestigious film festival in Rotterdam.

The middle class drama recounts the story of a mysterious couple from the capital city of Tehran who distribute large bags of money among people in a poor mountain border town.
