ramin mehmanparast

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman says victory of Mohammad Morsi in the Egypt's presidential elections is a step forward for consolidation of the revolution in that country.

According to IRIB World Service, in his weekly press briefing on Tuesday, Ramin Mehmanparast expressed hope that the people's will be a determining factor in Egypt and that now with election of an Islamist figure at the top, Cairo can enter into due interactions in the region in the way of maintaining stability and security in the region.

Elsewhere, he referred to return home of Iran's ambassador to Baku following desecration of religious sanctities in that country and said the government of Azerbaijan announced that it is against such profane act and would seriously deal with the perpetrators.

However, the Iranian spokesman said we expect neighbouring countries to make use of ample capacities to broaden relations and avoid such an atmosphere that hurts the feelings and sensitivities.
