Thailand hosts Iranian cultural week in Bangkok

The Islamic Republic’s cultural week has kicked off in Thailand in an attempt to introduce Persian arts, culture and handicrafts to Thai visitors.

The event which marks the 33rd anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran is held at Bangkok’s Chulalongkorn University.

Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Thailand Jalal Tamleh said on Wednesday that the event includes screening Iranian films and various cultural exhibitions presenting the rich culture of the Iranian nation.

The official also noted that the exhibitions display Iran’s scientific achievements in different fields such as defense capabilities, nuclear energy, nanotechnology, dam and power plant building industry and women’s activities in various historical periods.

Tamleh also announced plans for holding Iran’s film week in Thailand in line with the Islamic republic’s cultural activities in Bangkok.

According to Iran’s Cultural Attaché, Chulalongkorn University is slated to establish Persian language and literature department in the near future.
