The city of Borujerd in Lorestan Province, one of Iran’s western provinces, has been designated the Iranian Capital of Animation.

The city was named capital of animation in a ceremony attended by several officials invited from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and the IRIB (Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting), as well as Lorestan’s Governor General and several provincial officials.

Lorestan Governor General Hossein Saberi expressed his pleasure on the choice of the city of Borujerd and asked for increased efforts to remove obstacles in the paths of artists and animators in this region, the Persian service of MNA reported on Saturday.

The animations “Rustam and Sohrab”, “Child and Invader” and “The Last Messenger” are a few of the productions from Borujerd by the Dalvand brothers.

The four Dalvand brothers produce animations in their studios in Borujerd using the latest modern technology. They established Arya film producing company and have produced digital animations that first attracted the attention of officials at the Young Cinema Society (IYCS).

They later established a larger studio where they began to train interested youth. They gradually received projects from the public sector including the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Also produced under the supervision of Saeid Panji in Borujerd are the animations “Abu Rayhan Biruni” and “Let’s Learn Easily” by Rahasazan Animation Studio.
