France and Uruguay played to a scoreless tie in the second match of World Cup 2010 in front of 64,000 football fans at Green Point Stadium in Cape Town.
After a goalless first half, the second period only sparked to life for moments before Nicolas Lodeiro of the South Americans was dismissed, having been shown a second yellow card after only playing in the game for ten minutes.
The early stages of the match offered little, though both sides were offered large areas of space to attack into. But neither team was able to get onto the scoreboard.
Although the game between the Celeste (Uruguay) and les Bleus (France) finished in a tie, the South Americans are probably the happier team since France was heavily favored.
The other game in Group A between South Africa and Mexico finished in a 1-1 draw, so all four teams in the group have one point each after their first game.
