Mexico sees trilateral declaration an important step

 Mexico’s Secretary of Foreign Affairs Patricia Espinosa Cantellano said the Tehran trilateral declaration signed recently on nuclear swap was an important and valuable measure. 

She made the remark on Monday in Mexico City during a meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki. The two ministers reviewed ways of expanding and consolidating bilateral ties and exchanged views on regional and international developments.

They also stressed the need to make use of the potentials of the two countries in increasing the volume of trade exchanges.

Referring to the history of mutual ties which exceeds one century, Mottaki called for further ties between the two nations and said Iran was ready to transfer its experiences in oil and gas fields to Mexico.

Touching upon the issue of Palestine, he referred to the oppressive policies of the zionist regime against the nation and said the time when a handful of countries could make decisions for the whole behind closed doors was long over.

Iran’s foreign minister also invited his Mexican counterpart to visit Iran.

Cantellano pointed to the historical relations between the two countries and expressed her interest in implementing existing economic opportunities to boost mutual ties.

Mottaki also met with he President of Mexico's Senate Carlos Navarrete during which the latter stressed the rights of all nations to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
