Brazilian president in Tehran to attend G 15 summit meeting

Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva arrived in Tehran on Saturday evening to attend summit meeting of Group 15 as well as discussions with President Mahmoud 0Ahmadinejad. 

 President Lula da Silva heading a high ranking delegation including ministers of Defense, Energy Industry and deputy minister of commerce arrived in Tehran and was welcomed by Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.

He will hold a meeting with President Ahmadinejad on Sunday.

President Lula da Silva is scheduled to hold meetings with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani during his visit to Iran.

He will attend summit meeting of Group 15 here on Monday May 17, 2010.

Leaders and senior officials from 17 countries from Asia, Africa and South America will attend the meeting.

Group 15 was established in September 1989 to develop economic cooperation among developing countries.
