Iqama

Iqamah is an Arabic word that refers to the second call for the prayer which follows the first call (Adhan). Iqamah means that the prayer is ready to start. For both men and women it is mustahabb (recommended) to recite iqamah before every daily obligatory salat (prayer), with the salat immediately following it.
The rules applicable to adhan, such as continuity, sequence, its being in Arabic, etc., apply to iqamah as well.
