Eating Meat as a Source of Nutrition

Imam Sadiq (PBUH) narrated the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as saying: “you should eat meat because meat brings meat to body and whoever does not eat meat for forty days he would be ill-tempered and whoever gets ill-tempered feed him with meat”‌ (Vasaiel 26/17)

Imam Sadiq (PBUH) narrated the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as saying: “meat is the master food in this world and the other master is water which is the master of drinks”‌ (Vasaiel 27/17)

Imam Sadiq (PBUH) quoted the Holy Prophet (PBUH) as saying: “whoever does not eat meat for forty days he should borrow and eat meat”‌ (Vasaiel 26/17)

Imam Sadiq (PBUH) quoted Imam Ali (PBUH) as saying:  “when a Muslim gets weak he should eat meat and milk because God has put strength in them”‌ (Khesal 2/617)

Imam Baqir: “meat is the master of foods”‌ (Bahar 66/60)

Imam Sadiq (PBUH): “meat grows from meat and whoever does not eat meat for forty days he would be ill-tempered. Eat it to increase the power of your ears and eyes”‌ (Vasaiel 17/26).

Imam Sadiq (PBUH): “meat should be eaten every three days that means ten times a month and but should not be eaten more”‌. (Kafi 5/511)

Imam Hassan Askari (PBUH): “eat meat if you want to be strong”‌.
