A Short Biography of Martyr Hussein Kharrazi:
A Few Recollections of Martyr Kharrazi (Part 6)

During the Iran-Iraq war, in the course of the operation Karabala-5, when the delivery of food to the troops got disrupted as the enemy’s artillery was firing at its peak capacity, Haj Hussein took it upon himself to resolve the issue, but, as a result of a mortar explosion on February 27, 1987 he fell martyr, joining the army of Imam Hussein (PBUH) in the heaven, his Ashurayi soul becoming a pilgrim of Karbala. He was, upon his own will, buried in the Martyrs’ Section of the graveyard among his basiji fellowship. Some of memoirs or recollections of Kharrazi are given below.
The Beneficial Invitation
Two days before he was martyred, Hussein said: “I have completely prepared myself for martyrdom.” Upon being informed that the car delivering food for the troops had been struck by the enemy’s bullets, he, who had a restless soul full of love of serving the soldiers of Islam, got extremely upset and called the logistics officers through walkie-talkie and requested that another car be dispatched immediately and that he be reported back about the results. After a few hours, a car stopped in front of the trench and Haj Hussein, while keeping firing at the enemy, came out of the trench to inspect the conditions of the car. As soon as one of the mined-disarmers, who was shaking his hands, attempted to kiss his forehead, Haj Hussein’s graceful body fell to the ground. I could hardly believe this; I didn’t even realize that a mortar shell landed near us. I lifted his head immediately: a large, effective shell splinter had struck the back of his head and his neck. It was February 27, 1987, and Haj Hussein left for his heavenly abode; where his forehead would instead be kissed by the inhabitants of heaven.
