Martyrdom of Dr. Shahriari

On Monday morning, 29th November 2010, Dr. Majid Shahriari, a renowned Iranian nuclear scientist, was attacked in Artesh blvd, Tehran, and was martyred. He was a lecturer at Shahid Beheshti University and is the second Iranian scientist who was martyred after the Islamic Revolution.

Dr. Majid Shahriari in his auto biography, which has already been published, has mentioned: "I participated in the university entrance exam in 1984 and was rated the country’s second and admitted in the field of electronics in Amir Kabir University of Technology. After doing my Bachelor of Technology I continued my MSc (MTech) in nuclear engineering, achieved the highest mark and as a result was admitted in PhD program of nuclear science and technology at Amir Kabir University of Technology. After accomplishing my PhD in 1998 I was chosen as a faculty member of the physics department."

In another section of his educational summery you will read that Dr. Shahriari had been teaching basic concepts of physics and atomic reactor physics and dynamics, has four books on the similar subjects and also several international articles regarding the field of nuclear engineering which have been published in world's most accredited scientific journals.
