MARGINAL COMMENTS ON THE MISBAHAL-ONSS

The book Misbahal-Onss Bayn-al-Maaqul val Mashhood is a description by Muhammad ibn Hamza-ibn Muhammad Qanari on the book Miftah-al-ghaybe, by Abul Ma-aali Muhammad Ibn-e ess-haq Qunavi, a renown student of Muhyyeddin Arabi. It is about theoretic Erfan of mysticism.

Imam Khomeini has written his opinions and scientific criticism in the form of marginal comments on more than 2/3 of the pages of this book, in the years 1355 ahl,=1315 ahs= 1936.

The above two margined comments (on Fossus-Al-Hekam and Misbahal-Onss) under the heading of Subsequent Comments on the Description of Fosusul-Hekam and Misbahal-Onss was printed in 329 pages, by the Institute of Pasdaran Islam in Qom(1365 ahs=1886).

DESCRIPTION ON THE CHEHEL HADITH (FORTY NARRATIONS)

Arabaeen Hadith or Description of the Forty Narrations is one of the very valuable ethical and mystic works of Imam Khomeini, written in Farsi in 1358 ahl=1318 ahs=1939 a.d. In this work, 40 Hadiths or Narrations, narrated by leaders of the Religion, taken from the book Osool-e-Kafi (the first 34-hadiths-except hadith 11, on ethical issues and the last six hadiths on points of faith) have been described in lengthy manner and charming diction.

Last print: Tehran, The Institute for Compilation and Publication of the Works of Imam Khomeini, 1372= 1993, 900 pages.

SERRUL-SALAT (SALATUL AREFEEN VA MEERAJUL SAIAKEEN)

It is a profound book in Farsi on mysticism explaining the moral and mystical secrets of the (Nemaz) prayers, written in 1358 ahl-1318 - ahs= 1939 by the pen of Imam Khomeini. Domination of the Imam over theoretic mysticism and going through its practical stages and stations, can be understood from the depth of discourses of this book and of the above mentioned works.

Last printing: Tehran The Institute for Compilation and Publication of the works of Imam Khomeini, 1369 ahs=1990, a total of 266 p.p. including a preface by Ayatullah Javadi-Amoli, the text, guide-lists and a complete picture of handwritten copy.

RULES OF PRAYER (ADAB-UL-SALAAT)

This book was written in 1321 (1942) following the compilation of the book SER-ROL-SALAAT). Imam Khomeini, in the beginning this book, has written: some days before, I compiled a treatise, but since it is incongruous with the disposition of the public, I considered writing Out an exegesis on the hearty rules of this spiritual ascension.

ADAB-UL-SALAAT is a comprehensive description about the rules and spiritual secrets of prayer and is replete with moral and agnostically points. (in Persian language). Last printing: Tehran, The Institute for compilation and publication of the works of Imam Khomeini 1372 (1993), in 836 pages, including preface, text, guide lists and complete picture of hand written copy. The other printing consists of 421 pages without handwritten copy.

THE LEQA-OLLAH TREATISE

This is a short treatise in Farsi by Imam Khomeini. It is about mystic issues and is addendum to the Leqa-ollah Treatise by Ayatullah Haj Mirza Javad Malaki (s), printed by the Faiz Kashani Publications Institute. Fourth printing 1370= 1991.

ANNOTATION ON ASFAR

For years Hazrat Imam had taught the valuable book known as Asfar Arbaeh written by the famous philosopher Sadrul Moteallehin, in Qum. The Imam wrote marginal comments on some of its discourses. Unfortunately the related copy has not been found yet. It is hoped that this Institute will derive a selection of philosophic views and opinions of the Imam from the contents of his lessons in philosophy written down by his students, some of which is already in the hands of the Institute, This is expected to be made available for use by the Islamic society.

KASHFUL-ASRAR

This book which is a political, religious and social work was written in 1364 ahl=1323 ahs=1944 that is, two years after removal of Reza Khan from the throne. In this book the Imam has given answers to the doubts and anti-Religion, anti-clergy propaganda contained in the pamphlet Asrar-e Hezar Sale (=Secrets of a thousand years) written by a Wahhabi and by adducing to historic facts, while posing and criticizing the opinions of ancient Greek philosophers, those of Islamic philosophers and of the contemporary philosophers of the West, has emphasized the rightfulness of the Shiism and the role of the clergy and the guardianship of the jurisconsult (Walayat-e-Faqih) during the Occultation period. The work also reveals, in detail, the laic, anti-nationalistic policies of Reza Khan and his co-thinkers in Islamic countries (of that time).

ANVARUL-HEDAYAT FIL TAALIQA ALALKEFAYAT (2 VOLUMES)

This is a work in Arabic, on rational discourses of the science of the principles of jurisprudence (fiqh), in the form of marginal comments on said discourse as reflected in the book Kefayatul Osool by Grand Ayatullah Akhund Khorasani (s). Written in 1368 ahl=1328 ahs=1949. This valuable work on issues of principle, and the book Manahejul Vosool and the independent treatises of the Imam serve, to a large extent, to introduce the opinions of the Imam and his school of Principles.

This book was published for the first time in 1372= 1993, in two volumes by the Institute for Compilation and Publication of the Works of Imam Khomeini.
