Iranian Ensemble to Perform in Germany
An Iranian ensemble is slated to perform in Germany to mark registration of traditional Persian music in UNESCO's list of heritage.
The event, which will include performance of some pieces of traditional Persian music to mark registration of Radif of Iranian music in UNESCO's list of intangible heritage, is scheduled for this Friday in Dusseldorf's Burgerhaus Bilk.
The Radif of Iranian music is the traditional repertoire of contemporary music, which mainly bears a cultural theme and reflects the national identity of the Iranian people.
Radif was inscribed on UNESCO's List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity during the 4th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Abu Dhabi last year.
