Sanctions have benefited Iran: Mahathir
Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed said here that sanction have benefited Iran.
“The West’s sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran have been to the benefit of Tehran,” Mahathir told President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
Mahathir also called for expansion of ties between Iran and Malaysia.
Ahmadinejad,for his part, expressed satisfaction over the current level of joint investments and said this indicates that the two countries are willing to expand their cooperation.
Ahmadinejad also pointed to the global economic meltdown and stressed the necessity of drawing up new financial and monetary plans.
