The Czech filmmaker Petr Lom’s documentary about President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be premiered after Iran’s approval.

Announcing this, Javad Shamaqdari, a cultural advisor to the president, told Fars News Agency that the project titled ‘Letters to the President’ has been approved by the president.

“As per our agreement, the outcome will be reviewed by Iranian experts before international premier, “he said.

Shamaqdari added that Lom’s request to produce the film was submitted a year ago.

“He traveled to the country twice, and accompanied the president in some of his provincial trips. He also did part of the shooting at Presidential Letter Writing Center, “he said.

The official added that the American Sundance Institute Documentary has sponsored Lom’s documentary.

The institute has recently announced the 20 projects awarded financial and creative support from the Sundance Documentary Fund.

‘Letters to the President’ portrays Iranian villagers who share their hopes and fears through letters to President Ahmadinejad.

Shamaqdari further said that the presidential office has so far received 15 proposals to make a biopic on Ahmadinejad.
