Wednesday Supplication
Wednesday Supplication: It is recommended to recite the following supplication on Wednesday. The Audio is also available with English translation and Arabic text.

Arabic Text & English Translation:
اللهم صل علی محمد و آل محمد
O Allah! Send blessing on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّهِ الَّذى جَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ لِباساً
(All) praise is for Allah (alone) who wrapped the night (with darkness),
وَ النَّوْمَ سُباتاً
made sleep a medium of rest and repose,
وَ جَعَلَ النَّهارَ نُشُوراً
and the day a time to work and make efforts.
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ اَنْ بَعَثْتَنى مِنْ مَرْقَدى
(All) praise is for Thee (alone), [for Thou makes me come out of the deep sleep
(motionless spell of inactivity) everyday,
وَ لَوْ شِئْتَ جَعَلْتَهُ سَرْمَداً
although if Thou wills it could be a rest for ever],
حَمْداً دائِماً لا يَنْقَطِعُ اَبَداً
everlasting praise, (that) never ever is cut off,
وَ لا يُحْصى لَهُ الْخَلاَّئِقُ عَدَداً
nor anyone of the created beings can know, write or count up.
لَكَ الْحَمْدُ اَنْ خَلَقْتَ
O my Allah, (All) praise is for Thee (alone) for Thou created,
فَسَوَّيْتَ وَقَدَّرْتَ
(everything) in order and equilibrium, well-measured, properly managed,
وَ قَضَيْتَ وَ اَمَتَّ وَ اَحْيَيْتَ وَ اَمْرَضْتَ وَ شَفَيْتَ
effectively carried out, and determined the duration, gave life, cause (things) to decay, and recover,
وَ عافَيْتَ وَ اَبْلَيْتَ
made available comforts, (mixed with) troubles and sorrows.
وَ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَيْتَ
Calm and unruffled Thou occupied the A'rsh (seat of Divine authority),
وَ عَلَى الْمُلْكِ احْتَوَيْتَ
the whole universe under Thy domain and jurisdiction,
اَدْعُوكَ دُعاَّءَ مَنْ ضَعُفَتْ وَسيلَتُهُ
I call Thee with a request like the one whose means and opportunities are frail and unsure,
وَ انْقَطَعَتْ حيلَتُهُ
resources cut off,
وَ اقْتَرَبَ اَجَلُهُ
and the end is very near,
وَ تَدانى فِى الدُّنْيا اَمَلُهُ
expectations from the worldly life proved to be of little worth,
وَ اشْتَدَّتْ اِلى رَحْمَتِكَ فاقَتُهُ
(now) in need of Thy mercy cracks up,
وَ عَظُمَتْ لِتَفْريطِهِ حَسْرَتُهُ
sigh of grief and regrets for immoderate conduct are heartbreaking,
وَ كَثُرَتْ زَلَّتُهُ وَ عَثْرَتُهُ
errors are very many, and also offences,
وَخَلُصَتْ لِوَجْهِكَ تَوْبَتُهُ
but with sincerity has turned repentant to Thee,
فَصَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ خاتَمِ النَّبِيّينَ
therefore send blessing on Muhammad, the Last Prophet,
وَ عَلىَّ اَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الطَّيِّبينَ الطّاهِرينَ
on his pure and pious children,
وَ ارْزُقْنى شَفاعَةَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
and make available for me recommendations of Muhammad,
peace and blessings of Allah be on him and on his children,
وَ لا تَحْرِمْنى صُحْبَتَهُ
and donot deprive me of his company,
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ اَرْحَمُ الرّاحِمينَ
verily Thou art the Most Merciful.
اَللّهُمَّ اقْضِ لى فِى الاْرْبَعاَّءِ اَرْبَعاً
O my Allah, in the hours of this Wednesday, fulfil my four desires,
اِجْعَلْ قُوَّتى فى طاعَتِكَ
give me strength to obey Thee,
وَ نَشاطى فى عِبادَتِكَ
happiness in Thy worship,
وَ رَغْبَتى فى ثَوابِكَ
willingness to earn Thy rewards,
وَ زُهْدى فيما يُوجِبُ لى اَليمَ عِقابِكَ
self-control to keep off that which brings Thy terrible punishment;
اِنَّكَ لَطيفٌ لِما تَشاَّءُ
verily Thou very kindly and lovingly operates Thy will.
اللهم صل علی محمد و آل محمد
O Allah! Send blessings on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad.
