US role in spread of terrorism in the world: Nigeria

nigeria

A number of terrorist groups have emerged in different parts of the world since the US supported the formation and activities of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan to fight the former Soviet forces.
The said groups are the most brutal and savage the world has ever witnessed. In Nigeria, a terror group called Boko Haram has been mercilessly killing civilians and others in the most heinous manner; kidnapping school girls, recruiting school students, etc.
According to Global Terrorism Index (GTI), terror attacks against civilians are mainly carried out by Boko Haram terrorists, who killed between 17,000 and 20,000 people since their insurgency became violent in 2009. The terrorists are now affiliated with the Daesh.
Boko Haram directs its attacks at three states in Nigeria − Adamawa, Yobe and Borno − and northern Cameroon, with coordinated bombings also occurring in other parts of Nigeria, as well as Chad and Niger. The militants have been named as the world’s deadliest terror group, surpassing the Daesh (ISIS).
Besides human losses due to terrorism in Nigeria and neighboring countries, the terror group has caused displacement of thousands of civilians, inflicting huge losses on their livelihood, peace and economic activities.
Since the rise of the Boko Haram, thousands of people in Nigeria and neighboring counties have been forced to leave their homes and take refuge inside or outside the country.
The United States and some regional Arab countries are to blame for the emergence of these groups. These groups are ideologically affiliated to Wahhabism whose birthplace is Saudi Arabia and is the official religion of the kingdom.
According to some reports Boko Haram and other terrorist groups procure their required armaments and weapons from Western countries.

The US and other countries that indirectly support Boko Haram through selling armaments to them must take a lesson from the past and stop their support of terrorism as soon as possible to allow peace and tranquility return to Africa, where the highest number of poor people live. The money spent on armaments for killing the innocent people must be spent for the development of Black Continent. It will be possible only when extra regional powers stop meddling in the affairs of African countries.
