Zaen offensive operation (April 14th, 1981)

Ten days after two operations of Hendeli channel and Tappeh Cheshmeh , the headquarter of second brigade affiliated to Hamzeh 21st division from Islamic Republic of Iran army conducted and accomplished another operation in Shush area to seize Zaen and Shalibeh hills. A company from Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps participated in this operation as well. After 18 hours of fighting, Iran's forces from April 14th to April 15th in 1981 seized pre-determined objectives and occupied a key beachhead in Shush local area.

Result:

-While inflicting heavy losses on the enemy, courageous combatants of Islam army managed to seize Shalibeh's north hills and secure them.

-More than two hundred Iraqi soldiers were killed, wounded and 50 were taken captive in this operation.

-35 tanks and personnel carriers and 15 vehicles, a helicopter – a great number of machine guns and equipment were destroyed.
