The Sufferings of Imam Ali after the Prophets demise:

The battle of Nahravan

The Prophet in his period of twenty three years of his Prophetic Mission had always told me that a day shall come when some of my followers who fast and during in the night read The Holy Quran will stand against me, and I should being a war with them because they will be like a free arrow which goes opposite from the real religion….

Also the Prophet had told me that Zovalthodayeh will be with them and that when I have defeated and killed them, I will go to Paradise. And we returned to Kufa, and all of them who had insisted upon judging me, were now snubbing me and used to say: “very well, we were wrong, but why you Imam Ali?” Why an Emir and a great commander should listen to his soldiers and assistances? An Emir like you should do whatever he thinks is right, and he shouldn’t have any fear of death! Now that you listened to our ideas, so now you are an infidel and killing an infidel is lawful and legitimate!”

So all of them got united together and exited from my troop, and with a loud voice cried out that there was no command but God’s command only!

Some of them went to the Nokhayleh some others went to the Harora.

And the third group went to the Tigris. They wanted to go to the east as quickly as possible. When even they saw a Muslim before them, first of all they passed them through a test, and if the poor Muslim had opinions like them, they wouldn’t do anything to him, but if he had an opposite idea, they killed him along with his family.

At First, I started to invite the two first groups to God, and the Holy Quran, but they didn’t accept my invitation and they just wanted to fight with me and nothing else mattered to them.

And when I understood that their problem will never be solved just by the naked blades, I did the will of God and if I didn’t do that, they will be in a great and huge problem against Islam, but God had a different destiny for them.

Then, I wrote a letter for the third group, and I sent many ambassadors to them and all of them were great and wise men who were my followers, but that group like the two previous groups, ignored me and my ambassadors and insisted on fighting with us.

They continued to kill innocent Muslims who were against them, so I closed the way of Tigris and once again I sent many people to invite them to us, one day I sent this man, and another day that man (( Imam Ali showed two men, near him)), but I had no way just to kill them.

So my Jewish brother, I killed all of the four thousand men but between them, ten men only remained and survived. And between the dead bodies, I searched and found the body of Zovalthodayeh, the man who had had a breast like a woman, and our Prophet had told me before about he and finally, I showed his body to everyone.
