Pakistani Protesters Urge Boycotting U.S. Goods over Anti-Islam Film
Pakistani protesters have called for boycotting goods produced in the United States in protest at an anti-Islam U.S. film insulting the Prophet Muhammad.
The protesters, mainly Shia scholars and students, made the demand during a rally in the eastern city of Lahore on October 8.
The demonstrators stressed that it is necessary for all Muslims to ban American companies by stopping using their products.
"All of us need to boycott usage of all products made and manufactured by American companies, this way of anger at anti-Islam move will have its effects in form of economic loss to the Americans," said Raja Nasir Abbas Jaffery, the leader of Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen Pakistan.
They say both Israel and the U.S. are working on assigned programs to penetrate into their society and make them move away from their religious beliefs.
The protests against the movie intensified in the Muslim and non-Muslim countries after French weekly Charlie Hebdo on September 19 published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in yet another proof of the West's Islamophobia campaign.
Demonstrations against the movie have been held across the world, with protesters in some countries marching on the U.S. embassies and torching U.S. flags.
Protesters demand that Washington apologize to the Muslim world over the film. They also call for the punishment of those behind the film.
The anti-Islam movie is said to have been made with the help of Zionist donations totaling 5 million dollars.
