Gargling with salt water helps to cope with scratchy throat

Take a glass of warm water and mix a teaspoon of salt in it. A topical remedy such as gargles soothes a scratchy or sore throat. You should gargle twice a day to get rid of scratchy throat. Gargling with salt water will give you relief from irritation, swelling and pain.

Tea Remedies

Sip on a bit of tea filled with lemon and honey, great for soothing the throat and lemon has a disinfecting effect on whatever it touches. If your scratchy throat is really bad use a concentrated amount of lemon juice mixed with honey, no water to get the maximum effect. This age old remedy is simple and inexpensive, you can make it from products you probably already have on hand in your kitchen cupboard. Chamomile tea is very soothing drink a nice hot cup and relax as it soothes away your scratchy throat. The tea helps the inflammation in the throat and is good for the digestion too.

Honey & Pepper

In a bowl take one tablespoon of organic honey and sprinkle some black pepper on it. Mix both well. Then keep licking the mix slowly. Within few days you will see a difference in your condition. Follow this remedy everyday before going to bed, till you get better.

Ginger Tea

Drinking warm ginger and honey tea helps in scratchy throat treatment. To prepare this concoction, boil water and add tea. Add some freshly cut clean ginger root. Boil this for 2-3 minutes and strain it in a clean mug. Add honey and lemon juice to taste. Adults can have this tea, 2-3 times a day and for children, half-a-cup 2 times a day, should serve the purpose.
