Imam Sadjad’s Sermon in Syria (Damascus): Part 3

imam sadjad (a.s)

Yazid did not let him talk because he knew well about the influence of his sermons. At the same time, Yazid’s son Muawiyah said: “Let him talk. His sermon will be of no influence!”‌

People’s emphasis made him finally let the Imam talk to them.

Imam Sadjad said:

Allah has so willed that the faithful people should love us and it is not possible to prevent this by any means and to do something as a consequence of which people may love others and hate us.

Our superiority to others is also based on these seven pillars Muhammad, the Prophet of Allah, his successor, Ali ibn Abi Talib (A.S), the Doyen of the Martyrs Hamza, Ja'far Tayyar, Hassan and Hussein, the two grandsons of the Holy Prophet of this nation, and Mehdi, the savior of the oppressed and deprived people of the world) of this nation and the Imam of the last age. All these are from our Holy Family".

He continued: “I am the son of Mecca and Mina; I am the son of Zamzam and al-Safa; I am the son of the one who carried Zakat in the ends of the mantle; I am the son of the best man who ever put on a loincloth and clothes; I am the son of the best man who ever put on sandals and walked barefooted; I am the son of the best man who ever made tawaf (the procession round the Kaba) and Sa‘i (ceremony of running seven times between Safa and Marwa); I am the son of the best man who ever offered the hajj and pronounced talbiya (Here I am at your service); I am the son of the one who was transported on the buraq in the air.
