Masoud Ali-Muhammadi was born on August 26, 1959 in the village of Kan in the vicinity of Tehran.

He began his B.S. studies in the field of physics at Shiraz University. He was graduated in 1985 and continued his M.S. studies in the field of physics at Sharif Industrial University.

Doctorate Degree

Dr. Masoud Ali-Muhammadi continued his studies by participating in the first course for doctorate degree in the field of theoretical physics in 1988 at Sharif Industrial University. He was graduated in 1992 as the first domestic graduate of physics at Ph.D. level as well as the first Ph.D. graduate of Sharif Industrial University.

Elementary particles particularly the string theory and more precisely the grand unified field theories constituted the main subject of Dr. Ali-Muhammadi’s researches and educational studies. He was active for four years as a non-resident researcher at physics research center affiliated to basic sciences’ research institute.

Dr. Ali Muhammadi had been appointed as one of the two Iranian representatives in SESAME project (Synchrotron radiation center for research and applied sciences in the Middle East).

There was a bomb blast in Qeytarieh district of Tehran at 7:30 A.M. on January 12, 2010. The blast led to the martyrdom of Dr. Ali-Muhammadi.
